What is Craftedspoon?
Craftedspoon is a food and lifestyle site highlighting farmers, chefs, and artisans contributing to Indiana’s slow food movement.  Craftedspoon embodies the idea that process, products, and food need to return to a more traditional way that reflects environmental and economical sustainability. Our goal is to create as much relevant content as possible about Indiana’s local food movement and the people and places leading the way.
Why create this site?
We want to do this for many reasons. We hope to increase awareness on the importance of local food. We want to help people discover the joys of eating food that has a good story. We want people to know their farmers, chefs, and food entrepreneurs.
The People Eating the Food
Years ago as a very young gardener JD learned the ways of the soil. Unfortunately as time passed the naive gardener lost sight of the importance of fresh food and spent most of his youth consuming processed foods. Through these troubling years of bland cheap food he was awakened from his destructive lifestyle when he learned of the local food movement. This discovery of growing and consuming real food again has lead him on a journey to reclaim his diet and begin investing in today’s local food movement.
Today, JD is a an urban farmer that enjoys growing produce for family and friends. He can be found at a number of farmers markets and finds any excuse to stop at Goose the Market for a sandwich. He is excited for the future of Indiana’s local food scene as it develops and makes a positive impact on the Hoosier state.
Jason lived for a long time with not much thought into the food he was eating. He didn’t know where his food came from and didn’t really think about it. Over a short amount of learning and studying, he became enlightened. With his new knowledge, he has worked quickly to change every aspect of his diet to align with his beliefs. Jason is passionate about Indiana’s local and natural foods, and believes that food should be a huge part of every day life.
Today, Jason is a big supporter of Green B.E.A.N Delivery and any local restaurants he can find the time to eat at. He is excited to connect with the people in Indiana who are moving the local food forward.
